The Final Eggs-Stravaganza

Saturday, April 10, 2010

For the last 4 years - since H was born - we've been heading to a neighboring city for a free Family Easter Festival...
It's typically chaotic, but the kids have fun - in the past there's been face painting, kiddie bands, balloon animals, crafts...all leading up to an Egg Hunt...or, more appropriately...a scramble...
This year, they moved it to a new location...and we didn't see any of the above mentioned stuff - though it might have been there...somewhere...it was too chilly for us to wander too far to look for stuff ~
but we did see the eggs...

And they finally got a more friendly lookin' bunny...oh, our little man has not always been a fan of the Easter Bunny - Remember two years ago?

But this year, we all braved the chilly morning temps to see this Easter Bunny...

It was a good thing too - because that Easter Bunny gave each of the kids there very own plastic egg filled with jelly beans...something delightful to pass the time...

While waiting for the ready-set-GO of the dash n grab of the annual Easter Egg hunt?
9038 eggs.
That's how many eggs were laid out for KIDS to grab...these eggs each contain a small amount of jelly beans...and 700 of them had special stickers on them...and you redeem said eggs for a prize...we got one last year - and got a perfectly delightful stuffed purple dinosaur...
the way people clamour for these things...you'd think they were Golden Eggs containing cash...

But no...just jelly beans and the shot at a little stuffed animal...

This little princess - she managed to grab herself two eggs. Yes folks. TWO.
Out of NINE THOUSAND. THIRTY EIGHT. (poor kid!) Little Brother managed to snag 4 ~ I believe...

But they were not deterred...they were still all smiles!
Though I think next year - we'll do an egg hunt for ourselves & our own little friends in our own yard...that would be much more fun don't you think??

From there we got to head out to the birthday party of one of our special little friends...
D was all over the bubbles the second we got there & had a great time - somehow, I only managed to take like 3 pictures while we were there...sooo unlike me no?
apparently I wasn't feeling well - and did end up spending the next couple of days down & out...

But we were all soo glad to meet one of our new friends Sarah...
I think H was the most smitten with her....or more appropriately...little baby Ella!
oh how my kids love them some babies!!

While we didn't have any family here to celebrate the Easter holiday with us - there was no shortage of activities and fun filled times with friends.
Happy Easter ~ I am thankful for every last creepy one of you!

Ahhhhh . . . brings back memories. I remember my parents stashing eggs in our yard. Each one contained a crisp $1 bill! Good times all around for the Gaspersich boys.

Your kids are so cute! A friend of ours hosted an Easter egg hunt this year, and it was fun to watch the kids scramble for candy.
